Another great doc from national geographic about Japanese tattooing. I’ve seen the english version of this doco and highly recommend every to watch it. This is the spanish version of the doco, even if you don’t understand it, you be able to watch some amazing japanense full body tattoos.

Tattoo artist Leatherface and Wade Darby performed a practice run for this Guinness World Record Attempt.

This is a practice run which will see tattoo 10 people getting tattooed @ 5 hours each running from Midnight Friday to Midnight Sunday, plus 2 additional hours. Their goal is set at 50 hours of non stop tattooing.

I’m really loving the tattoo designs that Chris Garver is producing. This amazing King cobra tattoo was for one of the other Tattoo artists on the show Ted Henderson. The King Cobra was a reminder of the experiences and journey during his trip to Bali.

Feel like getting some ink? Tattoo artists from all over the country are all in Kansas City this weekend for a tattoo convention. Gone are the days when tattoo’s were widely considered taboo. Nowadays, people view it as a hip way to express their individuality.

This video showcases the delicate and unique art of the Japanese Tebori. The tattoo artist applies the ink to the skin in a similar fashion to modern day tattooist but instead of using a tattoo machine, the ink is applied by manually pushing the needles by hand.

The rhythmic sound you hear “shakki-shakki” is the sound of the tattooing needles leaving the skin. Just being able to watch the tebori tattooing process is amazing.

The idea of getting a tattoo can be intoxicating, a unique form self expression but for many there are barriers or fears to getting a tattoo whether it be social prejudice or just doubts, Tattooing in this day and age is safe.
